Voluntary Environmental Assessment

NQBP has appointed GHD Pty Ltd as the independent consultant to undertake a Voluntary Environmental Assessment (VEA). The purpose of the VEA is to assess the potential environmental, cultural, social and economic impacts likely to be associated with the project and to recommend mitigation measures. The information in the VEA will be used for Commonwealth and State Government agencies to assess the project and for future management of the port.

The public notification period for the draft VEA commenced on Friday 9th October 2009. Stakeholders and the community are invited to make submissions in relation to the draft VEA during this period. The draft VEA is able to be downloaded from the panel on the right of this page.

All comments received on the VEA will be considered by NQBP in finalising the documentation to be provided to Approval Agencies of the development of the Project.
