TELSTRA MOBILE NETWORK ROLLOUT DESIGN SERVICES
Telstra, Australia’s largest mobile network operator, is expanding its 3G telecommunications network by adding new greenfield sites in regional areas and additional rooftop locations.
GHD has been selected as one of two professional services companies providing site selection, preliminary design and detailed design services for Telstra’s new mobile network sites.
The scope of works includes surveying, geotechnical investigations, structural design and assessment, civil design, electrical design and drafting services. This project is coordinated on a national level with state project teams located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, providing design services to all regions of Australia.
Water Corporation Radio Upgrade Strategy
The Water Corporation in Western Australia engaged GHD to provide an Integrated Water Supply System (IWSS) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition strategic planning study.
The objective of the study is to determine the infrastructure changes required to the IWSS radio system when the existing analogue radio system is replaced to cater for the new Trio range of digital radio equipment recommended for use by the Water Corporation.
A secondary requirement for the planning study was to establish a replacement path for the existing Permitted Access Private Lines and Data Distribution Service lines to facilitate communication from Water Corporation Polling Sites back to the Call Management System plus some remote sites without radio solutions. This results from the planned Telstra withdrawal of these products in late 2009.
As part of this study GHD performed high-level desktop analysis for all Water Corporation IWSS sites providing Radio Frequency link and path profiles for the new digital links.
