In January 2009, Arizona Engineering Company joined leading global professional services company GHD. With this merger, GHD strengthens its position in its core practice areas of water and wastewater treatment plant design, civil engineering, water and wastewater operations, architecture, and land surveying.

GHD has offices in California, Seattle, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington.  GHD has a solid reputation for providing engineering services in water & wastewater engineering, asset management and municipal consulting and design services for cities and utilities. The company conducts infrastructure asset management training seminars across the United States for the US Environmental Protection Agency.

At the time of its merger with GHD Arizona Engineering Company was a diversified professional services firm providing civil engineering, water and wastewater operations, architecture and land surveying services to public agencies, regulated utilities and institutional clients throughout the state of Arizona from offices in Phoenix and Flagstaff. The range of services offered by Arizona Engineering Company is now significantly expanded by the global capabilities of GHD.

Arizona Engineering Company was founded in 1945 in Flagstaff, Arizona, by Charlie Dryden.   Mr. Dryden contributed significantly to the development of the engineering profession in Arizona through his long service on the Board of Technical Registration. Arizona Engineering Company has provided civil engineering and land surveying services for major projects and institutions throughout Arizona. Its landmark projects include significant portions of the Interstate Highway system.
