According to GHD’s Newcastle staff, you can’t go past this international professional services company if you want variety, challenge and opportunities to travel.

GHD’s Mechanical Engineer Robyn Kelly joined the company four years ago as a graduate, and since then has worked on projects as far afield as Qatar in the Middle East.

"I’ve worked on projects ranging from mining engineering to materials handling, rail acoustic engineering and building services. The best thing about GHD is the diversity and range of projects I can work on. The company has offices throughout Australia and around the world, so there’s lots of opportunity to travel and experience other cultures, " says Robyn.

Codie Craig, GHD’s Environmental Scientist, agrees with Robyn’s point of view. Codie joined GHD just over two years ago, and has already been involved in projects as diverse as highway upgrades, pipeline upgrades and powerline routes.

"One of the great benefits of working for GHD is the national and international travel opportunities, the level of flexibility and the overall professional consulting experience I’ve gained," says Codie.

Others appreciate GHD’s focus on broad experience and opportunities for growth. Andrew Bagnall, GHD’s Building Services Engineer and Sustainability Consultant, joined the company as a Mechanical Engineer but has been able to diversity into his real passion: sustainable development and green building design.

"Since I joined GHD I’ve become an accredited assessor for the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) scheme, as well as an accredited Green Star Professional," says Andrew, who is now heavily involved in the designing green buildings and providing advice and rating services to architects and developers.

On the other hand, GHD’s Civil Engineer Stephen Burns appreciates the opportunity to focus his career on civil engineering.

"The size and diversity of GHD’s Newcastle office gives me opportunities to work on a range of projects. I’ve had the opportunity to work in structural design and in traffic engineering. GHD’s given me some great opportunities, and also offers a good work/life balance," said Stephen.

GHD Newcastle Operating Centre is now hiring graduates and skilled professionals in fields including structural, rail, electrical, mechanical, civil and geotechnical engineering.

GHD employs 6000 people in a network of offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.
