Leading international professional services company GHD has
appointed Fraser Watt as Philippines Country Manager. Watt is based
in GHD’s Manila office.
Watt is an Environmental Chemist with over 25 years experience
in the scientific and environmental consulting industries in
Australia and Europe. He has significant experience in
environmental due diligence, contaminated sites investigation and
rehabilitation, and industrial site appraisal and assessment. He
joined GHD’s Melbourne office in 1996, and took over as manager of
GHD’s Geelong office in 2004. Under Watt’s leadership, the Geelong
office grew from two staff to 35 in less than three years.
Watt plans to increase GHD’s presence in the Philippines by
expanding staff numbers and introducing new service lines including
mining and resources consultancy, and architectural services to
support the Philippines’ burgeoning tourism and leisure industries.
He also aims to cement GHD’s strong reputation in provision of
International Development Assistance projects, as well as
traditional offerings such as civil infrastructure services, water
engineering and environmental services.
Says Watt, "It's the right time to grow our business both in the
Philippines and in surrounding countries. Our people are highly
skilled and motivated, with strong technical experience in areas
including International Development Assistance. As well as leading
local projects, our Philippines office lends its services to
significant GHD projects in South East Asia, the Middle East and
increasingly to Australia. I plan to increase GHD’s services in the
Philippines, increasing the development opportunities for our
Philippines staff and bringing a new range of services to our
clients."
Watt takes over the role of Dean McIntyre, who moves on to a key
leadership role at GHD’s Victoria Operating Centre,
Australia.
