Leading international professional services company GHD
Perunding Sdn. Bhd. was awarded the Malaysia Australia Business
Council’s (MABC) Business of the Year Award at the MABC Annual
Dinner & Dance held at the Shangrila Hotel yesterday.
The MABC award was presented to Liong Khoo, Malaysian Operating
Centre Manager and Keith Christiansen, former Malaysian Operating
Centre Manager by YB Tan Sri Dato’ Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin, Minister
of International Trade & Industry and H.E. Ms Penny Williams,
Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia.
Speaking at the event, Leigh Howard, Chairman of MABC awards
committee said: "The panel of judges was impressed with GHD’s
commitment to excellence and the outstanding quality of
achievements, rapid growth in revenue and staff numbers, and
innovative services showcased as a professional services firm."
"GHD has demonstrated initiative in building and enhancing
bilateral relations and fostering greater business opportunities
between Australia and Malaysia," Mr Howard said.
GHD Perunding Sdn. Bhd. is a locally registered consulting
engineering and environmental services business. The company
employs over 200 people specialising in civil infrastructure,
industrial infrastructure, building and structures, water and
environment, and asset and facilities management.
The company now has more than six offices throughout Malaysia,
including Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Alor Setar, Ipoh
and Kuching. It is supported by global operations employing more
than 6,000 people in a network of more than 100 offices in
Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the
Americas.
Mr Christiansen said: "GHD will continue to contribute to
bilateral trade through involvement in major infrastructure
projects in Malaysia and growing export services as part of major
international projects around the world. We also acknowledge the
important role played by MABC in facilitating greater trade,
investment and business opportunities".
The firm has successfully delivered a number of key projects
including Kinta Dam, Perak Groundwater Resources Study, Pulau Wan
Man Civilisation Park, Baleh Hydroelectric Project and Revolving
Gyro Tower in Malacca.
