Leading professional services company GHD has appointed Warren
Traves to head its global water business.
Mr Traves has more than 20 years’ experience in the water
industry and has been involved in a number of major projects. For
the past three years he has been the Engineering Manager for the
AUD2.5 billion Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, which was
named Global Water Project of the Year in 2008 by Global Water
Intelligence. Mr Traves was also involved in the BMP Alliance on
the Gold Coast and the Northern Manila Water Supply project for
Maynilad Water in the Philippines.
GHD has been at the forefront of the water industry for more
than 80 years. Mr Traves will be responsible for the continuing
growth of the global water business, including leveraging
opportunities brought by four new strategic mergers in the United
States.
GHD Chairman Des Whybird congratulated Mr Traves on his
appointment.
“GHD is currently working on some of the most significant water
projects in the world, with climate change, population growth and
urbanisation providing opportunities for our water business across
the globe,” Mr Whybird said.
Mr Traves replaces Nick Apostolidis, who has led GHD’s global
water business for the past 10 years. Mr Apostolidis, a Director of
GHD, has been appointed General Manager of Client Development.
