GHD has boosted its capacity in transport economics and policy
with three new strategic appointments.
Steve Kanowski, a transport economist with 25 years
experience in Australia and overseas has joined GHD. Mr Kanowski,
who is based in Brisbane, was previously responsible for transport
economics at Booz and Co’s Australasian transport practice, a
position he took up after establishing Booz and Co’s Irish
operations in 2001.
Steve will lead the 30-person GHD Meyrick
business with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong
and Canberra. Steve brings a wealth of experience advising clients
in the rail, aviation and public transport sectors.
Phil Potterton, formerly the Executive
Director of the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional
Economics, also joins GHD after a 30-year career in the public
sector. Phil brings significant experience in project evaluation,
policy formulation and regulatory issues in the transport sector.
He will be based in Canberra and will manage the GHD Meyrick team
there.
David Rolland, a former general manager with
the National Transport Commission has relocated from GHD’S Darwin
office to assume the role of manager of the GHD Meyrick team in
Melbourne.
Steve Meyrick, who headed Meyrick &
Associates until its merger with GHD in 2008, has been appointed to
the new role of Business Leader, Transportation Economics and
Logistics, and will oversee the direction, development and work of
GHD’s business in this sector.
“We are excited to welcome Steve and Phil to
our team. Their extensive knowledge of the sector and track record
in public and private infrastructure will be a valuable addition to
GHD’s capability,” Mr Meyrick said.
“The expansion of the GHD Meyrick team
positions us to service our clients more effectively in the
transport economics and policy arena.”
