GHD is set to manage the project that will provide
drought security for the New South Wales City of Goulburn.
GHD has been selected as the preferred tenderer for Project
Management and Design Services for the Highlands Source Project,
which will include a pipeline to transfer water from Wingecarribee
Reservoir to Goulburn.
Negotiations will now take place between GHD and Goulburn
Mulwaree Council to finalise contracts. The GHD tender is to
provide Project Management and Design services for both the
pre-construction (design and documentation) and construction
stages.
Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Carol James said the GHD tender was
selected from six received.
"We were pleased that all six companies short listed from an
Expression of Interest process chose to lodge detailed proposals,"
Cr James said.
"The tenders were assessed by an evaluation panel with input
from independent probity experts. Council will now work to finalise
the contracts so GHD can move forward with the pre-construction
stage as soon as possible.
"It is exciting to see this significant project reach another
milestone. It is great news for the people of Goulburn that drought
security has moved another step closer."
GHD Manager for Southern NSW and ACT, Robert Knott said GHD was
delighted to have this opportunity to work together with the
Council to deliver this significant water security outcome for the
local community.
"GHD has extensive experience in project management and
infrastructure design services, including stakenolder consultation,
planning, environmental approvals, and engineering," he said.
"The company has designed more than 150 water supply schemes
involving more than 300 water supply pump stations and 4500km of
pipeline.
"Innovations from these successful projects will deliver value
to the Goulburn Mulwaree residents."
