Leading professional and technical services firm GHD has
reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable water management with the
appointment of a team of new business leaders.
Under the direction of Warren Traves, Global Leader, Water, the
team will drive the growth of GHD’s water business, including
leveraging opportunities brought by four strategic mergers in the
United States.
Chris Hertle will drive our partnerships with
industry as Business Leader, Industrial Water
Management. Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in
industrial water management and is assisting some of the world’s
largest companies to more efficiently manage their water use and
turn industrial waste into a beneficial resource.
Peter Sutherland, who has played a key role in
establishing catchment management authorities in Victoria and New
South Wales, has been appointed Business Leader, Water
Resources & Irrigation. Peter has led the
implementation of national water reforms and was a Deputy
Commissioner on the Murray Darling Basin Authority.
Ross Fryar will work jointly between our water
and environment teams as Business Leader, Water &
Environment. Ross has been a major contributor to GHD’s
delivery of significant environmental impact assessments covering
major port developments, desalination projects, wastewater
treatment plants and urban development projects.
Gary Crisp, who played a key role in developing
the first major desalination plant in Australia, becomes
Business Leader, Desalination and will help to
drive growth in this important new market. Gary is a board member
of the International Desalination Association and has spent the
past two years working on the Gold Coast Desalination project.
Steve Carne, who has contributed to technical
excellence within GHD as the technical leader for sewer systems,
has been appointed Business Leader, New Zealand to
drive the growth of our water business in New Zealand.
In addition, GHD has appointed four new business leaders in the
US as a commitment to our investment there. Rhodes (Rip) Copithorn,
Jason Gianquinto, Peter Chan and Mike Elliott will support Mr
Traves in capitalising on opportunities in the US.
