The Sugarloaf Pipelines Alliance team was recently recognised as the Team of Excellence in a Project Alliance at the Alliancing Association of Australasia (AAA) Excellence Awards in Sydney.

GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting companies,  teamed with Melbourne Water, SKM and John Holland to connect the Goulburn River System, near Yea, to the Sugarloaf Reservoir, in Melbourne’s north-east, with a 70 kilometre pipeline.

The project, which was a major component of the Victorian Government’s Our Water,Our Future plan, was delivered five months ahead of schedule and has provided critical upgrades to Melbourne’s water infrastructure.

The AAA Excellence Awards aim to promote alliancing as an effective way of doing business, recognising organisations, teams and individuals for their outstanding contribution to successful project delivery.

The Sugarloaf Pipelines Alliance was recently awarded the prestigious Civil Contractors’ Federation (CCF) Earth Awards Victorian category, for projects greater than AUD75 million.
