GHD, a leading consultant in South East Queensland’s Water
Infrastructure including the $2.5b Western Corridor Recycled Water
project, has recently welcomed three new staff members to their
growing water business in Brisbane.
Dr Nicole Davis, former Director Operations for the South East
Queensland Water Grid Manager, has joined the firm’s water policy
and planning group with the aim of applying her extensive knowledge
of local water infrastructure and regulation to a more diverse
range of users.
Joining GHD’s Industrial Water and Waste team is Saskia
Kempener, an engineer with particular experience in biofuels,
process development, and wastewater treatment. Saskia's industrial
skills will further enable GHD to leverage technologies across
industries and apply novel approaches such as algae
biosequestration to process solutions.
Dr. Bruce Harper looks to expand GHD’s ability to consult on
coastal, ocean and wind engineering and associated climate change
risk assessment, specialising in numerical modelling of tropical
cyclones and related large-scale storms. Dr. Harper is a member of
the Standards Australia Wind Actions Sub-committee that oversees
design wind speeds and wind loads on structures and is a consultant
to the World Meteorological Organisation and the Bureau of
Meteorology.
Speaking of the local appointments, GHD Global Leader Water
Warren Traves said, “GHD is at the forefront of the water industry,
delivering sustainable water solutions across the globe, covering
every element of the water cycle for urban, rural and industrial
water applications. These three appointments to our Brisbane
operations demonstrate our commitment to placing the best people in
positions that will shape the way our clients meet changing demands
on water resources.”
