One of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and
environment consulting companies, GHD, was recognised at the
WorkSafe Victoria 2010 Awards on October 28th
2010. The Victorian Operations took home the ‘Best OHS
Management System’ honour. The award follows a National Safety
award received earlier this year.
GHD Safety Manager Clayton Harrison commented,
“The award recognises GHD’s demonstrated commitment to continuous
improvement of workplace health and safety through the
implementation of an integrated systems approach.”
GHD’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
management system incorporates an electronic network accessible to
all GHD people. It contains a workflow element to ensure that the
necessary safety analysis and reporting is undertaken across every
stage of the project lifecycle. During the tender process, specific
responses may identify significant risk and the electronic system
will not allow for the tender to continue. The technical prowess of
this system is supported by an innovative training curriculum that
is rolled out via e-learning, web-based training and face to face
sessions delivered by the GHD Business School.
The state award qualifies GHD for a potential
further honour at the National Awards which will take place later
in the year.
