One of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and
environmental consulting companies, GHD, has been accepted as a
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Silver Consultancy Partner for
Australia until May 2012.
The CDP is an independent not-for-profit
organisation that has developed the largest database of corporate
carbon disclosure information in the world.
Christine Wyatt, GHD Global Market Leader
Environment says, “This is a significant achievement for GHD and
one that will position us as a market leader in carbon management.
We are currently one of three consultancy partners in
Australia.”
GHD will be listed on the CDP website as a
consultancy partner and will also be featured in all requests for
reporting that the organisation sends to Australian-listed
companies.
“Pursuing CDP opportunities has already
begun,” Christine continues, “In May, our people in Sydney and
Melbourne attended workshops in their respective cities involving
organisations wishing to report to the CDP.
“In addition, we have won our first CDP
related project since being accepted as a consultancy partner.
We’ve been engaged by a mine owner to undertake a carbon baseline
assessment for one of its mines in Laos. We will prepare a carbon
information management plan to assist the organisation measure and
report its greenhouse gas emissions to the CDP.”
The partnership strengthens a greater
initiative within the company to embed sustainability into its
entire offering, which encompasses more than 70 technical services
covering water, environment, energy & resources, property &
buildings and transportation.
