One of the world's leading engineering, architectural and environmental consulting companies, GHD, has appointed Ross Young to lead its water business in Australia. Ross joins GHD to provide high level input to the company's large water authority clients across Australia, and to further develop and strengthen relationships with government bodies and regulators. He will maintain the momentum of GHD's Client Care Program visits in the water sector, working closely with global water and economics teams.

Ross comes to GHD from the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) where he was the Executive Director. WSAA is the industry body that supports the Australian Urban Water Industry.  Its members and associate members provide water and wastewater services to approximately 16 million Australians and many of Australia's largest industrial and commercial enterprises. The Executive of the Association retain strong links with policy makers and legislative bodies and their influencers, to monitor emerging issues of importance to the urban water industry.

GHD Global Market Leader Chris Hertle commented, "We welcome Ross to our 1500-strong water team and each of us is excited of the prospect of drawing on his vast experience to further strengthen our offering."

Mr Young's industry experience is preceded by a Diploma of Horticultural Science, a Bachelor of Applied Science, an MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Natural Resources Law from the University of Melbourne. He is also Chair of the Global Water Research Coalition, a non-profit organisation that serves as the collaborative mechanism for water research across the globe.
