One of the world’s leading engineering, architectural and
environmental consulting companies, GHD, has been recognised by
CareerTrackers - a not-for-profit organisation that works with
Indigenous university students and private organisations to create
career pathways through a structured internship program.
At the recent Gala Awards celebration dinner,
GHD received a total of six awards including the Trailblazer Award
and the overall Corporate Plus Award for their contribution and
efforts in placing Indigenous cadets across Australia.
CareerTrackers currently has 125 cadets in
Australia, of which 13 are placed with GHD, making the company the
single largest supporter of this program.
Jill Hannaford, GHD’s
Manager – Community Consultation & Social Planning NSW was
named Business Supervisor of the Year and Peter Dunn, Indigenous Services
Business Leader received an MVP Award for his active promotion of
the Career Trackers program within GHD and the broader business
community.
Peter commented, “We’re incredibly proud of
our personal achievements and those of the broader GHD community in
making this initiative a success. These recognitions acknowledge
our ongoing support of activities marking respect for Indigenous
Australians and fostering Indigenous enterprise.”
In addition, two of GHD’s interns received
student awards. Charlee-Sue Frail received an Academic Excellence
Award for achieving a yearly grade average of distinction in her
Political Science and Anthropology degree course with the
Australian National University. Devyn Jackamarra from GHD’s Perth
office received a Community Award for his outstanding commitment to
the development of his own individual community.
