Advanced knowledge tunnels into Canada

GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architectural and environmental consulting companies has appointed Marcus Weeks as Principal Tunnelling Consultant, Canada. Marcus has relocated from Melbourne, Australia to GHD’s office in Markham and will be responsible for leading the company’s Canadian tunnelling team.

“We’re excited to bring Marcus’ know-how to our Canadian clients,” says Colin James, GHD’s Manager - Canada. “In the GTA, capital expenditure programs have highlighted significant tunnelling projects to be delivered over the next decade in water, wastewater and transport. This is an opportune time to apply Marcus’ advanced knowledge in our region.”

Marcus is an industry leader with extensive global tunnelling experience. His knowledge spans the project life cycle from planning, functional design and detailed design to specification of civil works and construction phase support. His background in both Canada and Australia includes leading applications of tunnelling technology including soft and hard ground tunnelling methods, large diameter pipe jacks and segmental tunnel linings.
