In February 2009, Stearns & Wheler, LLC, environmental
engineers and scientists, joined forces with international
professional services company GHD.
GHD, which has more than 6000 employees worldwide, already has
offices in California, North Carolina and Washington. The merger
will see the company expand its presence to Connecticut, Maryland,
Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Virginia. Stearns & Wheler
President Jerry Hook will become President of GHD Inc., overseeing
the company’s operations in the United States. GHD North America
Manager, Don Graf, remains responsible for GHD in North America,
including GHD Canada.
GHD is one of the world’s top engineering and architecture
firms. Its offices in the United States are supported by an
integrated network of more than 100 offices throughout Australia,
New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe.
The company has provided asset management services to major
utilities in California and North Carolina and conducts
infrastructure asset management training seminars across the United
States for the US Environmental Protection Agency. Stearns &
Wheler is a privately held firm offering wastewater, water,
infrastructure, information management solutions, asset management,
industrial, municipal solid waste, environmental, and energy
management services.
