GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and
environmental consulting companies, is the sponsor of a new event
series with CEDA (the Committee for Economic Development of
Australia).
Entitled Reinventing the State of NSW, the
series examines the policies and practices needed to return NSW to
prosperity, and offers industry professionals an opportunity to
learn from government representatives and recognised industry
leaders. Reinventing the State of NSW will cover issues such as
infrastructure planning, generation and allocation of State
revenue, and managing essential resources.
“Bringing issues to an open forum like this helps
us to understand how we can collectively contribute to a better
future for NSW,” explains David Kinniburgh, GHD Manager
Sydney. “We are proud to be a member of CEDA, which has a key
role in connecting Australian leaders to promote economic
growth.”
GHD recently co-sponsored a CEDA event with NSW
Premier, the Hon Barry O’Farrell MP.
The launch of Reinventing the State of NSW takes
place on Thursday 28 July, when the Hon Brad Hazzard MP, Minister
for Planning and Infrastructure, will address the question, “Does
one size fit all when it comes to infrastructure planning for the
immediate and long-term future?”
Leading Westpac economist Bill Evans, and
infrastructure industry expert Jock Murray will lead discussion on
a number of issues, including:
- Political and fiscal approaches to infrastructure
investment
- Urban connectivity
- The role of private investment, accountability and
good partnerships
- Managing NSW in a national
economy
Chaired by Christine Wyatt, GHD’s Global Market Leader
Environment, Reinventing the State of NSW promises to deliver an
intriguing discussion about the future of NSW.
