Our Central Coast team has been established to focus on providing services in the areas of water and wastewater, management, geotechnics, planning, roads and transport, buildings and structures, the environment and urban development.

The Central Coast operations enjoy the support of a network of more than 6000 people globally, including 600 people in GHD's Sydney and Newcastle offices, which brings benefits for large-scale projects.

The Central Coast office is one of six offices that comprise the Newcastle Operating Centre, stretching north of the Hawkesbury to 75km south of Newcastle.

Swansea Bridge Cathodic Protection Work

Swansea Bridge at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales is an opening bridge to allow vessels to pass underneath and was constructed in the mid 1980’s. Since then, harsh marine exposure conditions had resulted in corrosion and bridge deterioration. A solution was needed to increase the longevity of the bridge.

Working with the Roads and Traffic Authority NSW (RTA), GHD helped develop a long-term, environmentally-sustainable durability solution to be adopted  which would increase the bridge’s longevity plus minimise community disturbance and achieve best value for money outcomes.

Blue Tongue Brewery

Mark is a chemical engineer with more than 17 years’ experience in heavy industry, with the past eight years heavily involved in the water industry.  Mark has extensive experience in the planning, design, construction and operation of water and wastewater conveyance and treatment systems.
