GHD has been delivering projects on the Central Coast for many years. We are in a strong position to understand our clients' needs and respond with genuine commitment. Our people live and work in the community, so they understand and can respond to local issues and stakeholder requirements.

Our Central Coast team has been established to focus on providing services in the areas of water and wastewater, management, geotechnics, planning, roads and transport, buildings and structures, the environment and urban development.

The Central Coast operations enjoy the support of a network of more than 8500 people globally, including more than 600 people in GHD's Sydney and Newcastle offices, which brings benefits for large-scale projects.

The Central Coast office is one of five offices that comprise the Newcastle Operating Centre, stretching north of the Hawkesbury to 75km south of Newcastle.

GHD was engaged to provide preliminary design and concept studies for a proposed Bluetongue brewery in Warnervale, Central Coast,  New South Wales.

Swansea Bridge Cathodic Protection Work

Swansea Bridge at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales is an opening bridge to allow vessels to pass underneath and was constructed in the mid 1980’s. Since then, harsh marine exposure conditions had resulted in corrosion and bridge deterioration. A solution was needed to increase the longevity of the bridge.

Working with the Roads and Traffic Authority NSW (RTA), GHD helped develop a long-term, environmentally-sustainable durability solution to be adopted  which would increase the bridge’s longevity plus minimise community disturbance and achieve best value for money outcomes.

Mardi-Mangrove Link Project

The Mardi-Mangrove Link Project is an initiative of Gosford City and Wyong Shire Councils with Australian Government funding of AUD80.3 million through its Water Smart Program and an additional AUD40 million combined from the two Councils.

GHD provided design and approvals services to help the Councils achieve the project objective - to improve the harvesting of water flows from the Wyong River into Mardi Dam, the transfer of excess water for storage in the Mangrove Creek Dam, and the return of water to Mardi Dam in times of low capacity.

Dave is the Manager of GHD's Central Coast office located in Tuggerah. A chartered civil engineer with more than 15 years’ experience, Dave has a proven record in successfully delivering civil  and environmental projects within both the waste management and mining sectors throughout Australia, Ireland and mainland Europe.

Born in Ireland, Dave has now lived on the Central Coast for three years with his family. He is passionate about the region and satisfying our clients’ business expectations.
