Lake Condah Restoration project management

GHD was engaged to project manage the design and construction of infrastructure that would allow the restoration of Lake Condah, near Heywood in Victoria.

Lake Condah forms a key part of the recently declared “Budj Bim National Heritage Landscape,” and is identified as a wetland of national significance, on cultural and ecological grounds.

Centre for Regional Engagement, Uni SA

GHD provided detailed design, documentation and construction phase services to the UniSA Centre for Regional Engagement at the Mount Gambier TAFE SA campus.

The 400sq m single-storey building contained reception, offices, wet laboratory, toilet and storage facilities. In addition to the new building the project involved refurbishment and fit out of a new nursing skills area designed to stimulate real-world hospital conditions. The project also included design of a new 70-space car park.

Blue Lake Pumping Station Modifications, SA Water

The existing Blue Lake Pumping Station was commissioned in the early 1970s to be the primary supply of water to Mount Gambier and the surrounding districts in South Australia.

The pumping station is located on the northern side of the Blue Lake and consists of a floating pontoon structure (that pumps water to the bank of the Blue Lake), a secondary pumping station and anchor block (that pump the water up to the top of the crater), and associated infrastructure.

Kraft Cheese Manufacturing Facility Extension

GHD was the lead designer and construction manager for the development of an existing food processing factory at Suttontown, Mount Gambier. The works included an extension to an existing chiller, and construction of a new pasteuriser building and covered loading/unloading bay.

GHD’s involvement included the design of all architectural, civil structural and building services for the new facilities. GHD also acted as construction manager for the majority of the new works.

New Mount Gambier Library

GHD was commissioned by the City of Mount Gambier to provide documentation and construction phase services for the Mount Gambier Public Library.

The new public library is a focal point in the centre of the Mount Gambier township and includes various elements that make the facility a functional space for a broad cross-section of the community.

Michael Scott

Michael Scott has been with GHD for more than 11 years, having worked in our Brisbane, Dubai and Mount Gambier offices.

His experience includes management of major international infrastructure master planning projects, management of environmental and planning studies to facility project development approval, and design management of multi-disciplinary projects.

His key areas of experience include client communication, management of multi-disciplinary teams and the development and management of project controls and tools.
