GHD established its operations in China in 1995 through a joint venture. The partnership allowed us to undertake a number of significant projects across China. GHD established offices in Beijing and Changsha in 2004 and rapidly expanded in 2006 through acquisition in Beijing.

GHD now has well-established offices in Beijing, Changsha, Wuhan, and Hong Kong, employing almost 300 staff. GHD China also provides services of a global standard to support our growing workload, particularly in Australia and the Middle East.

Henderson Champion Arch Residential Development

This project is a large residential development in Changsha and is being developed by Hong Kong Henderson Land Development Company Ltd. The development has a land area of 241,038sq m and a total building area of 442,000sq m. GHD has undertaken the architectural design in phase one of the project working on a building area of 240,000sq m.

Shenhua Watermark

GHD provides a comprehensive range of services to Shenhua's Watermark Project in New South Wales, Australia.

The Shenhua Group, one of China’s leading energy companies, holds an exploration licence near Gunnedah in New South Wales that contains more than one billion tonnes of accumulated coal resources.

Changsha First Boulevard Office

GHD undertook the site planning and detailed architectural design of this 28-storey commercial building in Changsha, Hunan province.

GHD won out against international competition because of its high-quality architectural design. Subsequently GHD was commissioned to complete the master plan design and documentation, the landscape design, and project management services.

Peter Wood

Peter currently leads our Mergers and Acquisitions initiatives. His primary focus is to identify and engage with potential merger partners that are aligned with GHD's strategy. Peter was a Director of GHD from 2002 to 2011 and Deputy Chairman from 2008 to 2011. Prior to his current role, Peter was General Manager of our China and South East Asia operations based in Beijing. In the past, Peter also managed the company's victorian operations. Peter joined GHD in 2002 when the company acquired Geo-Eng, a consulting firm he founded in 1992.
