The GHD Wuhan office was established in early 2009. It is the fourth branch office that GHD established in China, after Beijing, Changsha, and Hong Kong.

Wuhan is located in the hinterland of central China, at the junction of Yangtze River and Hanjiang River. It is a mega-city and an important transportation hub in China.

With successful acquisition of Wuhan Jiangwei Architecture Design Co. Ltd, Mr Fan Zhejiang joined the GHD China team as Office Manager, Wuhan and Service Group Manager, Structures. Mr Fan has over 20 years' professional experience in structural design and business management. After graduating from Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering with a Masters Degree in structure engineering, he worked with the Wuhan Architecture Design Institute as a structure engineer for 10 years and become the national first class registered structure engineer in China. Prior to joining GHD, he was the chairman of Wuhan Jiangwei Architecture Design Co. Ltd (former Wuhan City Institute for Design and Research in Chemical Industry founded in 1963).
