Located in the capital city, GHD's Wellington
office supports a range of clients in both central and local
government and also acts as a hub for private sector clients with
national portfolios. Services offered are in the building,
civil/road, planning, project management and management consulting
areas.
The Wellington office has successfully
delivered a diverse array of projects. Some examples from our
civil/road team include the Safer Roads program for Wellington City
Council, a new truck weigh station on State Highway 1 in Plimmerton
for the New Zealand Transportation Agency and the delivery of a
geotechnical and roading solution that will keep Eureka Bend, on
the Takaka Hill Road in Golden Bay, open to vehicles.
Our buildings team is busy delivering
projects to the defence sector, industrial clients, commercial
property owners and the food industry. The innovative moving
target range delivered for the New Zealand Army's light armoured
vehicles, new helicopter facilities at RNZAF Base Ohakea, the
seismic strengthening of commercial and public buildings, and new
wineries are all examples of the work carried out. Many of these
projects also make use of the project management skills available
through our office. Providing planning guidance to clients has
seen projects including the consenting of wind farms, Resource
Management Act advice on major new transport corridors and
assistance with the planning applications for building and property
developments in the region.
