Wagon Trail Elementary School

image

Tsinaabaas Ha’bitiin (Wagon Trail) Elementary School is a rural education facility master planned for approximately 125 students and 25 faculty/staff. The school is located at The Gap, Arizona, approximately 70 miles north of Flagstaff in a remote area of the Navajo Nation. Planning for the new school began more than 30 years ago but land acquisition and funding issues meant the design phase of the project did not begin until 2002. GHD’s scope of work included water development, storage and distribution, wastewater treatment and disposal, site development, and construction administration.

GHD’s Terry Worcester, formerly of SSPW Architects, was the architect responsible for making the project a reality for the tribe and district. Construction of Wagon Trail Elementary School was completed in 2006.

City of Charlotte asset management program – Charlotte, NC

image

The City of Charlotte, the largest municipality in the State of North Carolina, is a major hub of manufacturing, health care, education, transportation, culture and entertainment, and finance for a metropolitan area of approximately 1.35 million people. Charlotte manages over USD10 billion in citizens' assets amongst its fourteen business units.

The City is facing extensive population growth, system overuse, and persistent under-funding of repair, rehabilitation, and replacement of its infrastructure. To solve this situation, in October 2006 the City contracted a project team led by GHD to develop a framework for managing assets for the City and to develop the business case for implementing a cross-business work/asset management solution for all City departments.
