GHD has prepared the detailed master plan for the Waterfront City in Vietnam, which is billed as the central township of the new Long Hung City development in Dong Nai.

When completed, Waterfront City is expected to accommodate approximately 35,000 people. The development is being undertaken by a consortia led by international urban developer, Keppel Land. The project comprised integrated, comprehensive and sustainable development that incorporates low to high-rise apartments, landed homes, marina, mixed use and commercial districts complimented with civic, educational, health and recreational facilities.

GHD has prepared the detailed master plan for Aquacity, a development located adjacent to the proposed Waterfront City in Vietnam’s Dong Nai province.   

The development is being undertaken by a consortia led by the diversified international corporation, VinaCapital, with participation from local organisations DonaCoop and An Phu Long JSC.

Over 282,000 people in the townships of Bac Lieu, Ha Tien and Sa Dec, now have direct access to piped clean water and sanitation facilities through a joint initiative of the Vietnamese and Australian Governments.

These three towns were given priority because of rapidly deteriorating environmental health conditions, a growing demand for clean water supply and appropriate sanitation and the potential for economic growth. The new water systems in all three towns are now operational and will progressively expand to meet the demands of a growing population.

The Implementation Support Program (ISP) is aimed to enhance the quality of the Vietnamese Government’s Program for Communes Facing Extreme Hardship in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (Program 135-Phase 2) in Quang Ngai Province. 

The objective is to reduce poverty and foster, secure and sustainable livelihoods for those living in the province’s 43 poorest and most marginal communes. These communes are also home to the large majority of Quang Ngai province’s ethnic minority population. The program is also designed to help distil and disseminate lessons from Quang Ngai which may assist the Government of Vietnam and its program partners in the delivery of P-135- II nationally.

The Logistics Support Unit (LSU) of the World Food Programme (WFP) was in the transition entity bridging the period between closure of the WFP Shipping Service (WFPSS) and the WFP’s ultimate exit from the provision of support for logistics and shipping in the tsunami and earthquake affected regions of Aceh and Nias. We were Invited to bid to review a case for ongoing funding from World Bank managed Multi-Donor Fund for WFP logistics support unit in Aceh-Nias, Indonesia, including assessment of infrastructure constraints and developed future shipping options, World Bank 2006–07.

A private investment was made to build a reservoir, water treatment plant with capacity of 90,000m3/day, a 45km transmission pipeline system with diameter of 800-900mm from Dong Tam to Go Cong town, and a booster pumping station in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, Vietnam. GHD Vietnam was appointed to provide technical assistance, project management and supervision for the project.

The project aimed at supplying fresh water for about 590,000 inhabitants in Go Cong town and two local districts Go Cong Dong and Go Cong Tay as well as Cho Gao town and a few industrial parks in Cho Gao as a supplementary water supply. The project commenced in December 2008 under the Build Own Operate (BOO) form. Tien Giang People’s Committee and Tien Giang Water Supply and Sewerage Company will be responsible for the distribution of water and invest on construction of secondary pipe network.
