We delivered EPCM for a new tailings dam at St. Ives Gold Mine to accommodate for 5Mtpa. Scope also included new infrastructure (roads, power supply connection, water facitilies, telemetry & seepage control).

GHD assisted to complete a PFS for proposed dual longwall underground mine including geotech, materials handling, coal handling preparation plant and surface infrastructure

Southdown magnetite project

GHD delivered a feasibility study for an AUD3 billion mine development to +/- 15% accuracy. This project included mine site and supporting infrastructure.

Goonyella to Abbot Point expansion project, Coal Connect

Goonyella to Abbot Point expansion project

Work included 69 km of new railway formation plus upgrades to the existing railway infrastructure that would enable trains to travel from the Goonyella system to the port at Abbot Point.

GHD provided detailed design of the new Berth 1. and subsequently was also engaged for the detailed design of the barge off-loading facility.

GHD is working with Traditional Owner groups and mining companies (including BHB Billiton & Rio Tinto) to assess the benefits of establishing Indigenous 'On Country' enterprises to provide natural resource management services.

 

Carmichael coal mine & rail project EIS, Adani

Carmichael coal mine & rail project Environmental Impact Statement

GHD was commissioned to complete an EIS for the proposed 60mtpa underground and open cut mine and rail line to either Abbot Point or Dudgeon Point.

 

Tui Mine Remediation, New Zealand

Codelco Mining power plant

GHD is helping to clean-up a mining legacy in New Zealand. Over the past decade, the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment has been working toward remediating the Tui Mine site, located on the slopes of Mt Te Aroha in the Waikato Region.

Dave Clark - Australia

Dave Clark

Dave’s career spans nearly 25 years in the Energy & Resources sector, during which he has fulfilled strategic operational and consulting roles in the open cut mine environment and associated operations and infrastructure projects. He also led GHD’s business in Australia’s Northern Territory for over four years, which included leadership of major projects in mining, power and oil and gas.

Dave is currently the Australian Mining Leader for GHD as well as Energy & Resources Market Leader in Victoria. He also manages a number of strategic client account relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Geological Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University and a Master of Engineering Science degree in Mining Geomechanics from the University of New South Wales. Dave is actively involved in the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) as a current Director and Chair of the AusIMM Mining Society Committee; he is also a Fellow and Chartered Professional of the AusIMM.

Paul Currie - Australia, Asia and Eastern Europe

Paul has more than 25 years' experience in the field of mine planning and mining engineering, with dedicated skills in computer design and planning techniques as well as scheduling and strategic planning. He has well-developed strengths in engineering planning activities in the mining sector that include detailed feasibility studies, development work planning, earthworks, infrastructure design and project costing. Paul actively consults throughout Australia and the wider Asian region.

Ric Robaina - South America

Ric Robaina is experienced in all aspects of project management of multidisciplinary projects in a variety of fields including mining, industrial, infrastructure and research and development. His on-site experience includes initial green fields establishment through to commissioning and hand-over. In his role, Ric has undertaken work in the preparation of bankable documents to enable capital investment, establishment of total project budgets, project implementation and execution including engineering management, procurement and construction management. Has worked around the world, in Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Uruguay, Peru, China, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa and Russia with a variety of clients and contractors. Ric recently managed the WorelyParsons Sydney & Wollongong M&M business with strong annual turnover over the entire period. In this capacity, Ric was responsible for governance of all projects executed by the Sydney office to enable quality, timeliness, completion to cost and safe delivery.

During his career, Craig has worked on most continents with major resource and industrial companies including BHP and Alcoa; engineering consultants Kaiser Engineers and Hatch Associates; and the Australian Federal Government. For much of Craig’s career, he has held positions of leadership, often with management responsibilities across a range of functional areas. In leading sizeable organisations and teams, Craig has been accountable for management and performance of Environment Health and Safety, finance, human resources, and risk management.

Manny Ancheta – Philippines

Manny is the Business Group Manager for the energy and resources group in Manila. He brings extensive practical and management experience with more than 30 years working on mine design, buildings and structures, mine haulage roads, dams, subdivisions, geology, surveying, geotechnical and design management projects. Manny has significant experience in project management and contract administration in a variety of countries including the Philippines, Australia, Laos, the Sultanate of Oman and United Arab Emirates. He is also responsible for the overall relationship with the client including strategic planning and allocation of resources in order to best serve the needs of the project.
