Badu Prawn Farm

GHD conducted a feasibility study for a prawn production aquaculture proposal on Badu Island in the Torres Strait.

With business considerations in mind, the study looked at environment, people and finances.

Torres Strait Islander consultation featured strongly and information on traditional sea farming and sea species life cycles was taken into account.

The project aligned with the National Indigenous Aquaculture Strategy and resulted in a management plan that reflected indigenous concerns and needs.
