Bogong Hydropower Project

The Bogong Hydropower Project has been described as the “Missing Link” in a series of generation facilities that have been undertaken in the Kiewa Valley, Victoria, Australia.

As Owners Engineer, GHD undertook the detailed geotechnical investigation, development of a geotechnical baseline report (GBR) and preparation of the reference design and all tender documentation.

Through the Construction phase, GHD provided supervision services with specific responsibility for the tunnels, shafts and powerstation.

The Project takes water from the McKay Pumping Station tailrace, and delivers it at high pressure to the new Bogong Pumping Station.

The Tunnel site mobilisation began in January 2007, with GHD staff providing onsite construction supervision on all stages of works.
