Booderee National Park, New South Wales, is a significant
coastal conservation area attracting many thousands of tourists
each year.
GHD was engaged to prepare a new concept plan for the amenities
and camping facilities at Caves Beach, within the conservation
reserve.
The design references the White-bellied Sea Eagle, which in
addition to being present on the park logo, is also the guardian of
the Aboriginal people of Wreck Bay. This significance
provided an opportunity for story telling and historical
education at the site.
GHD's leading planning and design services
incorporated:
- An elegant design drawn from White-bellied Sea Eagle
- Colour and materials pallet that merges the amenities into the
surrounds
- Environmentally sensitive water, sewerage and sustainable
electricity infrastructure
