GHD is currently providing professional engineering services for the safety management of over half of Auckland City’s road network. This is a two to five year contract and is a key initiative toward meeting the objectives of the government’s Road Safety 2010 strategy.

The contract calls for investigation, feasibility analysis, preliminary and detailed design of road safety improvements. To meet these requirements, GHD has carried out and supplied Auckland City Council with:

  • Area-wide crash prioritisation and crash reduction studies
  • Strategic studies, route optimisation and transportation studies
  • Scheme assessment, design and implementation of infrastructure improvements
  • Traffic engineering advice

Having already completed the 2 year fixed component of the contract, GHD was awarded to continue with the third, bearing testament to commendable project performance to date.
