Energy Developments Ltd, West Kimberley Power Project

The liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Maitland, Western Australia, takes natural gas from the Dampier to Bunbury gas pipeline and  produces 200 tonnes of LNG product in MN75 and MN95 grades a day.

The product is trucked to storage facilities in Broome, Derby, Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing and Looma.  LNG is vapourised and the gas is drawn from the storage facilities to feed gas-fired generators which provide electrical power for each of these local communities.

Services provided by GHD included engineering support,  process hazard management, preparation of safety case and government approvals.

Hydrocarbons Processing

Hydrocarbon Processing facilities handle products which are flammable and hazardous and often at elevated pressures and temperatures. We have a direct interest in the various aspects of process hazard management – pipeline risk assessments, HAZOP study, SIL/LOPA study, Consequence Modelling of hazardous incidents (e.g. gas dispersion and thermal radiation). Our activities include the revalidation of previously completed process hazard analysis studies.
