Expanding Mackay’s Industrial Area

The Bowen Basin mining boom in central Queensland is generating high demand for new industrial premises for mining services and supporting industries. This growth is boosting the expansion of the Paget Industrial hub, to the south of the Mackay city centre.

GHD has been engaged by the Mackay Regional Council to provide the civil infrastructure design for a new 70ha, 100-lot fully serviced development in Paget, on the site of a former sugar cane and turf farm.

GHD has also been engaged separately by the Queensland Department of Main Roads and the Mackay Regional Council to prepare detailed design for road improvement in the vicinity of Bruce Highway, Farrellys Land and Connors Road.

Earlier works in the Industrial hub involved traffic studies to assess impacts of future development and provide a sound understanding of future road profiles.
