This deceptively simple re-design of a sewage pumping unit,
installed to replace aging septic tank systems, is the culmination
of a 44 year career of one of GHD’s most respected civil
engineers.
This invention, with a patent pending, has been designed to
solve the key problems of sulphide gas odour and pipe corrosion
that is commonly experienced when these types of sewerage systems
are installed throughout the world.
This clever design not only mitigates the risk of a serious
OH&S issue, but also leads to reduced sewer pipe diameters
throughout the network, providing civil infrastructure cost
savings. With the first installation of this system scheduled to
commence in Australia in the second half of 2011, GHD is now
introducing the concept to other water asset owners around the
world, generating considerable interest.
