GHD Newcastle provided storm water management advice and design
to the development of an 18-hole championship golf course at
Medowie in Port Stephens.
The Pacific Dunes development included an 18-hole championship
golf course, sporting facilities, tourist accommodation and
integrated residential housing for more than 400 people.
GHD's design included bio-retention areas, swales and
constructed wetlands to provide storm water treatment for the
residential development areas and the roadways within the golf
course.
The design and implementation of the Pacific Dunes storm water
system illustrates that urban development can occur adjacent to
significant ecological areas.
