Padman Health Care - Springfields

Springfields was the 2007 national winner of the Aged Care Association's Australia's Best New Residential Facility. The project is part of Padman Health Care’s expanding private aged care facilities range. Serving the northern sector of the greater Adelaide area, Springfields has been designed to provide a level of accessible, integrated and inclusive residential accommodation consistent with the increasingly elevated expectations of an ageing population.

Since Springfields opened early in 2007, GHD has continued its relationship with Padman Health Care, as architects and project facilitators.

Springfields has been designed as a resort-style residential care facility providing 80 low and high care places.

The design development procedure has been collaborative, integrating the input of staff and residents from other Padman Health Care facilities with the knowledge base of GHD’s experienced aged care design team.

This has resulted in a complex delivering individual private accommodation suites combined with multiple communal activities areas – all affording the residents the opportunity of a quality lifestyle. This atmosphere is reinforced and enhanced by the discreet control of both natural and artificial lighting in the subtle interior design.

With enclosed courtyard garden and open entertainment areas, a hairdressing salon, medical consulting suite, resident’s IT centre, cafe, and private dining and function rooms, Springfields is redefining the concept and level of contemporary aged care.
