GHD has a continuing relationship with the BP Refinery at Bulwer Island, providing process and technical risk management services to assist and support the refinery leadership team.

This support has covered a full range of risk management activities, including, but not limited to conducting Hazop Revalidation and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) Studies for varied equipment on site from compressors to LPG storage and loadout terminal. Thermal radiation and Vapour Dispersion modeling calculations supported these activities.

Hydrocarbon Processing facilities handle products which are flammable and hazardous and often at elevated pressures and temperatures. We have a direct interest in the various aspects of process hazard management – pipeline risk assessments, HAZOP study, SIL/LOPA study, Consequence Modelling of hazardous incidents (e.g. gas dispersion and thermal radiation). Our activities include the revalidation of previously completed process hazard analysis studies.
