Sanya Bay new city is a new resort area under development at
Sanya on the Chinese island province of Hainan.
GHD’s urban design and architecture team in Beijing
is providing the concept design that incorporates urban
development for the site, architecture for modern, Chinese-style
villas and environmental management.
The area under development occupies nearly 7sq km
and is located to the west of this popular tourist city on the
southern most tip of the island. The entire development will be
completed in three self-contained stages.
As GHD’s Ye Zhang describes, “The overall design
concept will reflect the local culture and the physical location
that embraces the natural wonders of the mountains, river and sea,
while paying close attention to protecting the area's ecology.”
