Twice the Task

The National Transport Commission engaged our services and SKM, in association with the Transport Systems Centre of the University of South Australia, to research what Australia should do to best cope with the forecast increases in land transport of freight.

This major study included:

  • Analysing long term forecasts for freight transport,
  • Surveying the practices and measures taken and under consideration in other countries,
  • Surveying government planning authorities and agencies, seeking their views and measures under consideration,
  • Holding discussions with industry, government and other stakeholders.

Report findings were workshopped and subjected to critiques of practicality, implementability and potential benefits. The Twice the Task final report was launched by the NTC on 14 February 2006.
