Cunderdin B Pump Station


The Water Corporation of Western Australia engaged GHD to advise on a project to improve the efficiency of the Cunderdin B Pump Station (PS B) which is part of the Goldfields and Agricultural Water Supply (GAWS) scheme.

PS B supplies water in an easterly direction along the Main Conduit (MC) from Cunderdin to Kalgoorlie. The three existing pumps in PS B can operate in parallel to achieve 77.6 ML/d. However due to surge constraints, this mode is currently not possible.

HV Indoor Switchgear Life Extension Analysis


Commercial pressures are increasing on organisations to maximise their plant utilisation and reduce the lifetime cost of assets. At the same time, ageing switchgear presents health and safety challenges. For example, old HV switchgear was not built to withstand an internal arc fault because the standards at the time did not acknowledge this hazard.

BHPB Nickel West engaged GHD to an analyse switchgear at their Kwinana Refinery with a view to apply the learnings across the business, thus extending the life of their old HV switchgear
