To meet the most stringent noise limits for mining operations, GHD was commissioned by WesTrac (Caterpillar dealers for NSW/ACT and WA) to acoustically attenuate three Caterpillar 789C off-highway trucks.

Jody Altmann

Jody Altmann

Jody is a mine design and geotechnical engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in underground excavation and open pit design, stability analysis, ground support design and optimisation. She is also experienced in the design and application of geotechnical instrumentation. Her experience includes projects such as Loy Yang Mine, Northparkes Mine, Olympic Dam Mine, Agnew Gold Mine, Renison Bell Tin Mine, and Mount Marion Gold Mine in Australia.

Simon Maher

Simon is a geologist with 20 years’ experience in the minerals industry, in both the private and public sectors. He has worked in exploration with CRA Exploration and in mining with BHP Billiton; and with GeoScience Victoria and the Department of Primary Industries on strategic coal initiatives. Simon is a Member of the AusIMM.

Paul Currie

Paul has over 25 years' experience in the field of mine planning and mining engineering with specialist skills in computer design and planning techniques as well as scheduling and strategic planning. Paul has well developed strengths in engineering planning activities in the mining sector that include detailed feasibility studies, development work planning, earthworks, infrastructure design and project costing. Paul actively consults throughout Australia and the wider Asian region.

Ted Waghorne

Ted is a Principal Mining Engineer with over 35 years of experience in the mining industry. He provides strategic consulting services in relation to mine planning, mine operation, operator training and mine management.

Ted has held senior mine management positions at the major Yallourn and Loy Yang coal mines, including the position of Mine Manager at Loy Yang. He has also held senior positions within consulting and mine technical support groups. Ted provides strategic review services, and conducts risk assessments and due diligence activities. Ted is a Fellow of the AusIMM; and represents the coal industry on a number of bodies.
