A New Busway for Brisbane

Queensland Transport engaged GHD to undertake a pre-feasibility investigation into the need, scope and likely issues involved with a proposal for the busway in the locality of the Gympie Road corridor. This corridor is a major arterial road that serves as both a regional linkage and a key component in the central northside district road network.

A range of previous studies, including the Corridor Selection Report, identified the need for a northern busway to provide a new public transport line haul (high quality, high frequency) route to support existing and future north side suburban services.

Design & Construct Travel Demand Management Auckland Motorways

GHD is currently providing professional engineering services for the safety management of over half of Auckland City’s road network. This is a two to five year contract and is a key initiative toward meeting the objectives of the government’s Road Safety 2010 strategy.

Perth to Bunbury Highway

The Southern Gateway Alliance, comprising GHD, Leighton Contractors and WA Limestone in partnership with Main Roads Western Australia, was awarded the contract to build the AUD11 million new Perth to Bunbury Highway.

Work on the project officially began on 21 December 2006 and continues throughout the southwest today.

Timaru Transport Study

GHD was commissioned by the Timaru District Council and the New Zealand Transportation Authority (NZTA) to carry out research and analysis eventuating in a strategy for alleviation of Timaru’s escalating traffic issues.

Appointed Operations Manager in July 2008 for the WA Operating Centre, Ashley, a civil engineer with more than twenty years consulting and contracting experience, is responsible for all operational aspects of the business including financial performance, major project tender review, commercial terms and conditions, risk management, technical excellence, quality, safety and sustainability.

Ashley has been an active executive committee member of the ACEA-WA Division since 2003 and represents the ACEA on the Commissioner of Main Roads Construction and Maintenance Industry Advisory Group. In addition he has been a Director of the REACH Foundation since 2006.
