Philippines

At GHD Philippines, our clients benefit from the high professional skills of our staff and our ability to draw on GHD’s international resources for various specialist skills and services required to support any development. Established in 1998, GHD Philippines has a thriving Philippine business operation in addition to providing other GHD offices technical support for various international projects.

At the heart of our business in the Philippines is a team of more than 180 forward thinking engineers, architects, geologists, drafters, planners, environmental scientists, and management consultants working together to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

The GHD Philippines office grew dramatically in 1999 with the awarding of a three-year agreement to support the expansion of a water service concessionaire that provides water to seven million customers in the greater Metro Manila area.

We have since expanded our business to include urban development and planning services to reputable land development firms and to the first ethanol plant in the Philippines.

Our growing environmental group has provided environmental and engineering services to local and international companies and key players in the energy and mining sectors.

GHD Philippines also houses the International Development Assistance group, which facilitates and coordinates GHD’s activities with the Asian Development Bank, AusAID, the World Bank and other funding agencies.

Our office has developed a reputation within GHD’s international network for delivering high quality work under tight deadlines.

We encourage a regular exchange of staff between the Philippines and other offices in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East to allow our people to interact in the international arena and hone their skills to international industry standards.

New ADB Technical Assistance Project in Palau

image

Our International Development Assistance (IDA) Support Group in Manila has secured a technical assistance project with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the preparation of the Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Babeldaob, Palau.

Palau is a small idyllic Pacific Island nation with a population of around 20,000, with most habitants living on two of its many islands. The aim of the Technical Assistance is to define secure, reliable, and affordable water supplies to communities on Babeldaob and Koror islands. The envisaged outcome will be a plan for the sustainable development of the national water supply system and improved reliability and security of the water supply to Koror. A water supply master plan and feasibility studies associated with proposed sub-projects, including preliminary designs, will also be prepared. The feasibility studies will provide the basis for a future infrastructure investment project.
