Getting the right priorities in place to deliver efficient, reliable and well-planned transportation systems are fundamental to a community's economic prosperity and quality of life.

Economic and population growth, greater urbanisation and increased mobility are boosting demand for new infrastructure and services straining the capacity and effectiveness of existing assets. Single mode approaches are no longer viable as governments and stakeholders recognise the need for multi-modal solutions across the whole integrated network.

Across the whole transport spectrum of airports, maritime, roads and highways, rail bridges and logistics, our team provides integrated transport services throughout the project lifecycle - from initial policy, transport planning, economics and business case advice, through concept, procurement, detailed design and construction to operations, maintenance and asset management.

Demand for resources globally can only be met through the provision and maintenance of innovative, flexible and sustainable transport infrastructure. Working with our team, our clients benefit from the security that comes with a presence on the ground, coupled with global industry experience. Our transportation offering extends beyond the trusted advisor relationship. We’ll work closely with you and offer reliable, cost-concious advice to ensure you meet your objectives

We help clients develop sustainable solutions which balance infrastructure investment with demand reduction, land use strategies and system efficiencies.

Auckland Airport Northern Winter Schedule Remote Stands

Auckland Airport required more parking stands for what they termed the ‘Northern Winter Schedule’. This period sees New Zealand welcoming more aircraft and passengers from the northern hemisphere looking for solace during their winter.

With a growing schedule, the airport had to grow in order to accommodate. The construction of two Code E & four Code C remote stands was the directive, the deadline to deliver was the challenge.

CCTV review of Christchurch pipe network

CCTV review of Christchurch pipe network

Major earthquake damage to Christchurch waste and stormwater pipe networks led to the largest pipe assessment program works undertaken in New Zealand.

After extensive damage to the Christchurch waste and stormwater pipe networks following the earthquake sequence beginning in September 2010, a team of reviewers was required to examine post-earthquake Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage. This data has allowed the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT) and City Care Limited (CCL) to commence an informed and strategic rebuild of the horizontal infrastructure across the city.

Victoria Street West Cycleway

GHD is excited to work with AT on another important link in Auckland’s cycling network. The Victoria Street Cycleway (formerly called the Midtown Cycleway) will be a dedicated, physically separated from motorised traffic for the whole route running between the Beaumont Street intersection and the Hobson Street intersection along Victoria Street West.

The goal of the Victoria Street Cycleway is to create a continuous separated, safe, and attractive route to and from the city. Where practical, the cycle lanes will be physically separated from pedestrians with a small kerb. The Victoria Street Cycleway will be the first section of a larger midtown cycling connection. This connection will provide safe, separated cycling facilities between Victoria Park and the Auckland Domain, creating cycleways to and through the heart of the city centre from the west and the east.
