As leader of GHD’s Urban Design and
Landscape Architecture Team in New Zealand, Melissa has had led and
contributed to many transportation projects. Melissa’s skills and
experience include urban design in a transport context from
strategic level to streetscape design, including master planning,
transport planning, landscape architecture, low impact stormwater
management design, contract administration, CPTED and Landscape and
Visual Assessments. Melissa’s current study in transportation
engineering gives her the skills to ‘translate’ across disciplines.
She is experienced in coordinating urban design and transport
requirements to produce feasible design solutions, and in taking
stakeholders along the journey of the project to improve ownership
of the project and reduce conflicts once the design is
complete.
