Paul Murphy

Paul is GHD’s Service Line Leader for security, responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of the security business within GHD. During the past three years, Paul has continued to exercise leadership in the management of the interface between the built environment and security requirements. Paul’s focus during the past three years has been on the assessment of security implications for the built environment, including working with structural engineers, blast modelling engineers, architects and planners in the development of appropriate risk mitigation strategies for structures and developments to cater for security threats. 

Paul co-represents Engineers Australia on the advisory board for the Research Network for a Secure Australia and the National Centre for Security Standards steering committee. Paul regularly contributes to the development of standards, policy and guidance materials within the security and engineering communities and is a regular participant and speaker at industry conferences and seminars. Paul is currently involved in the Security Professionals Taskforce working committee. In this role Paul is responsible for the management, coordination and growth of the capability within Australia and internationally.
