Ties has over 30 years of international consultancy
experience, half of which he served as in-country resident Team
Leader and Chief Technical Adviser to governments in Eastern
Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, Balkans, Middle East, and East
Africa on large multi-year technical assistance projects dealing
primarily with sustainable development, environmental, and natural
resources management issues. These projects were funded by USAID,
EuropeAid, and the governments of Denmark, Sweden, and Netherlands.
Before then he worked in Australia and USA undertaking
environmental consultancy assignments mainly on electrical power
and extractive industries developments. Ties joined GHD in mid 2010
to lead the International Development Assistance group’s activities
primarily in the Pacific, SE Asia, and Africa for clients that
include AusAID, Asian Development Bank, and Swedish International
Development Cooperation Agency.
