Asset Management

Share on:

Efficient, effective and safe infrastructure underpins the economic prosperity and quality of life or our communities.

For over 40 years, there has been increasing awareness for the need to plan more effectively and make better decisions about the way we use and preserve our built environment.  Building on traditional maintenance, this has progressed to decision-making that addresses whole of asset life planning and service portfolios. Known as asset management, this proactive approach has become an indispensable tool in dealing with the challenges of deteriorating assets and constrained budgets.

Asset management is a journey for organisations. The destination and the path taken will be different for each one, but even the initial steps can yield important benefits in aligning asset management practice with corporate aspirations. Whether you are beginning your journey or are well on your way, we are here to help you realise these and other benefits and achieve your business goals.

Our team provides asset management services in a variety of sectors and industries. This includes assessment and advisory services for every stage of your asset management journey – from initial planning and implementation to benchmarking and improvement.

  • Helping you to achieve certification in PAS55 / ISO 55001 which shows that you are operating to world leading standards

Transport for London: Development of the Company Wide TfL Asset Information Management System Business Case Model

image

GHD assisted Transport for London (TfL) with the development of a business case model to support progression to a company-wide Asset Information Management system. The project objective was to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness through a more unified and consistent approach, promoting an asset management driven evaluation.

TfL engaged GHD to help them explore and develop a more unified and integrated approach to asset information management, with particular reference to a corporate system.  The approach was to draw from the principles and logic embodied in asset management, whereby needs and benefits could be evaluated in the context of specific, relevant functions and transactions, but as part of a much larger whole. The resulting Business Case Model can be applied consistently at any level, e.g. to local system solutions, but in each case addresses a company-wide Asset Management Information perspective.
