To date GHD has undertaken over 50 independent 'External Expert' corporate gate reviews for Transport for London (TfL), helping the client determine if its programmes and projects are deliverable, affordable and provide value for money. The projects and programmes assessed range in scope from civil and station upgrade works, information management systems upgrades, passenger ticketing systems upgrades to the introduction of new train control systems.

Each review scrutinizes the project or programme to determine whether TfL should commence or continue with it and to identify key corrective actions.

Programme Management support to the Access Transformation Programme

The Access Transformation Programme was a challenging change management programme that aimed at transforming the way London Underground undertook maintenance and project works during engineering hours. The aim was to reduce the reliance on weekend closures and possessions for delivery in advance of 24 hour weekend operations. GHD provided programme management support that allowed the project to proceed through Gate A and B into delivery.

The Access Transformation Programme (ATP) was formed from six separate workstreams, each commissioned and in different lifecycle stages, delivering works separately, albeit with similar objectives and interrelating activities.
