EHS Management Systems

Share on:

A well-designed management system can deliver a range of benefits, ranging from enhanced reputation and business relationships to improved operational control, cost savings and demonstrably reduced environmental impacts. An effective management system can enable organisations to successfully fulfil their corporate responsibility commitments to environmental sustainability, workforce well-being and ethical business practices, delivering a sustainable business.

We believe that developing a management systems implementation programme provides a valuable opportunity to influence organisational culture, manage risk and deliver business improvement. There is no rule book for developing a system; whilst conforming to the requirements of the chosen standard for the system, each management system can and should be tailored to suit the unique culture and business objectives of each individual organisation.

We apply this belief to provide strategic guidance in EHS management systems development and improvement. We are experienced in the development of systems certified to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 as either stand-alone systems for a single discipline or fully-integrated business management systems. Working closely with our clients, we aim to develop tailored and effective integrated management system implementation programmes that enhance commitment to improving management processes. As part of our process we undertake comprehensive gap analyses to identify key improvement opportunities for our clients’ businesses.

GHD also contributes to the work of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the development of new standards and guides (including the revised ISO14001:2015), which enables us to provide an advanced level of support in the process of developing and certifying management systems.
